Explanation behind the scene (aka stuff you want to ignore) - Danny and Valerie have this massive battle and by some accident Val drowns in a lake nearby. Danny's all guilty but she comes back as an uncontrollable/vengeful/powerful ghost. She starts harming innocent bystanders just to get Danny so he has no choice but to battle her and trap her in the Fenton soup container -coincidentally above the exact same lake Val drowned in.
